- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Dijon mustard. Use a whisk or spatula to mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Step 2: Once the mixture is well combined, season it with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a pinch of salt and a couple of cracks of black pepper, then mix again.
- Step 3: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce into a refrigerator-safe container. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Step 4: After chilling, give the sauce a quick stir before serving. It can be enjoyed chilled as a dip or a sauce.

This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Just give it a good stir before using.
