Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package (16 ounces) Chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos)
  • 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup Creamy peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup Butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • As needed Candy corn For feathers
  • As needed Mini marshmallows For wattles
  • As needed Pretzel sticks For legs
  • As needed Small round candies For eyes
  • 1-2 teaspoons Milk If needed to adjust consistency

Equipment

  • Food processor or zip-top bag
  • Rolling pin
  • Medium bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Instructions
  1. Finely crush Oreo cookies using a food processor or rolling pin in a zip-top bag.
  2. Melt chocolate chips; set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine crushed Oreos, melted chocolate, softened butter, peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. If the mixture is too dry, add milk, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach desired consistency.
  5. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into oval shapes for turkey bodies. Gently shape into elongated ovals.
  6. Attach candy corn to the back of each body for feathers, overlapping slightly.
  7. Make small balls of dough for heads and attach to the narrower end of the body. Attach two mini marshmallows for wattles, and pretzel sticks for legs. Add small candies for eyes.
  8. Chill on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 15-20 minutes to firm up (optional).

Notes

For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. Get creative with decorations! Use different colored candies or sprinkles to personalize your turkeys.
