Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Pour ΒΌ cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the pancakes are cooking, melt the candy melts according to package directions. Transfer to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a small corner snipped off.
- Once the pancakes are cooked and slightly cooled, place 8 chocolate chips in a semi-circle near the top of each pancake for the spider's body. Pipe thin lines of melted candy from the chocolate chips towards the center of the pancake to create spider legs. Add two smaller chocolate chips as eyes, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your spooky spider pancakes!
Notes
For extra spooky fun, use different colored candy melts for the spider legs. You can also add sprinkles or other Halloween-themed candies for extra decoration.
