  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
Pudding Layer
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix

  • 1 package (3 ounces) Gummy Worms
  • 1 cup Crushed Green Cookies Optional, for 'grass'

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving Glasses or Trifle Bowl
  • Food Processor (optional)

Method

Instructions
  1. Crush chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  2. In a large bowl, combine crushed cookies, cocoa powder, milk, and vegetable oil. Mix until a moist, crumbly mixture forms.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Let stand for 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  4. Layer pudding and “dirt” mixture in individual serving glasses or a trifle bowl, starting and ending with a layer of dirt.
  5. Press gummy worms into the top layer of dirt.
  6. Sprinkle crushed green cookies around the edges (optional).
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the pudding to set.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate sandwich cookies. You can also add other Halloween-themed candies to the top.
