- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare muffin tin by lining with paper liners or greasing with cooking spray.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Step 4: Add molasses and mix until well combined.
- Step 5: Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually stir in buttermilk until smooth.
- Step 6: Slowly incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Step 7: Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Step 8: Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Step 9: For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Step 10: Drizzle the glaze over cooled muffins and let set before serving.
