Ingredients
  

For the Tart
  • 2 cups rhubarb, chopped
  • 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp milk for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped rhubarb, sliced apples, granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Pour the fruit filling into the pre-made tart shell and dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the crust of the tart.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Step 6: Allow the tart to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftover tart in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze slices for later enjoyment.
