- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped rhubarb, sliced apples, granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
- Step 3: Pour the fruit filling into the pre-made tart shell and dot the top with small pieces of butter.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the crust of the tart.
- Step 5: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
- Step 6: Allow the tart to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftover tart in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze slices for later enjoyment.
