- Step 1: In a large skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Take your time with this step; you want the butter to melt gently without browning.
- Step 2: Once the butter has melted, add minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Step 3: Stir in the zest of 1 lemon and 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 4: Allow the sauce to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting it simmer and thicken slightly.
- Step 5: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in chopped parsley. Toss the sauce with your favorite cooked pasta in a serving bowl.
Notes
This sauce can be made vegan by substituting butter with olive oil or plant-based butter. It can be prepared ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
