Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • Pinch Sea Salt For sprinkling on top (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Chopped nuts Optional

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • 8x8 inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula

Method

Instructions
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
  3. Stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Avoid high heat to prevent burning.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  5. Stir in your optional mix-ins (nuts, etc.) if desired.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with sea salt, if using.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  8. Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
