Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it's melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley (if using) and serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a combination of Parmesan and Romano cheese. You can also add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables to make this a more complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
