Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Fettuccine pasta
  • 6 tablespoons Butter
  • 8 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley chopped (optional)
  • To taste Salt
  • To taste Black pepper freshly ground

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Large skillet
  • Colander

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it's melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley (if using) and serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a combination of Parmesan and Romano cheese. You can also add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables to make this a more complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
