  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 16 oz container sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup crushed cornflakes optional, for topping

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, chopped onion, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and transfer the hashbrown mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Step 4: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top. Optionally, add crushed cornflakes for an extra crispy topping.

Notes
